25 October 2007
70# doe fawn
100gr Montec

Made a perfect shot that turned out not to be perfect. Arrow came out right in the armpit, but got only a bit of liver and lots of upper stomach. Blood trail was sparse, muscle blood and stomach matter. Gave it four hours. Raining/misting the whole time. Took my time on the trail, deer went about 80 yards and laid up and bled to death internally. How in the heck I didn't get at least one lung in the exchange I'll never know... but patience and backing out when you have a questionable hit pays off in pounds so speak.

100grain Piston point at 15 yards. Coyote.
I have tried several broadheads this year and this was the best shooting I have tried and no damage to the head as it passed right through and stuck 9 inches into the ground. The rubber band was even still intact and reusable. Very impressed. I can't wait to blast a buck with them.

Muzzy 3 blade, 100 grain. 25 year old, slower bow.
Mature doe, 20 yards.
Almost complete pass through chest and front leg (quartering shot). Good blood trail. Ran 100 yards or so in an arc in sight, stopped, meandered a few more yards and was done. 5 minutes from shot to recovery.

This is the free one I received (if anyone remembers that post by quicksilver I believe)

Shot her through both wings, she ran about 4 yards and expired.Complete pass through. The BH was still pretty sharp.

Muzzy 100gr 4 blade (original)
Doe
20 yds

Made a bad shot and hit her in the hips. Shattered the pelvic bone and ended up penetrating about 4 inches out the other side, broke off and haven't found the head. Made a follow up shot through the lungs, bent the blades a little on that shot.
