What a terrible way to start the season. Glad to hear that you are alright though. You could have been really hurt. Hopefully it isn't as bad as it looks.

That stinks. At least you're ok. Last year something similar happened to me. As I drew back, the string came off the cam. Boy was I ticked off. See if the limbs are under warranty.

IS that a Bowtech?

Since it came apart and no stress (like a dry fire) took place it might be fine. Would be a help to us all if you could share why.

Glad baldntatted is OK

The only bow failure I've ever seen was a guy who was trying to reduce the poundage on a 60# bow for his little brother. One turn too many and the limbs left the riser as he was drawing. The aftermath looked just like the photo (he was ok too).

That was my thought, maybe tried to back it off a bit too much???

I am glad he is alright but, I wish he would share what had happened so that we all can be aware of it.

Possibly what had happened here as he doesn't want to tell us anything?

I reduced my draw weight this year (bum shoulder) from 70# to 63# and noticed my bow was louder (not "loud" though). When I saw all the rubber on that bow that's what instantly came to mind.

My next bow will have 60# limbs maxed out.

RE: #$#$#$#^

no i went to bed y i didn't answer lol the bow is only set at 63 lbs goes down to 60. it's a bowzone 1
No it was not run over no there was an arrow in it that shatterd in 3 peaices so no dry fire.

I just had the cable replaced cause i for some reason the bottom cam was cutting the string that was a new string got it last friday

Finch 09-30-2007 07:18 AM

RE: #$#$#$#^

Yeah, I was just trying to deduce possibilities of what may have happened. Looked like the string was custom. Is there a burr on the cam?

baldntatted 09-30-2007 07:58 AM

RE: #$#$#$#^

not sure what kinda string is on there it came with the bow

baldntatted 09-30-2007 09:20 AM

RE: #$#$#$#^

Whats that on the end of your cable guard????

baldntatted 09-30-2007 09:31 AM

RE: #$#$#$#^

it's a bow jax silencer

BowHuntingFool 09-30-2007 10:31 AM

RE: #$#$#$#^

Did that come on the bow or did you put that on?? Do you think that might of had something to do with it?? Seems like stopping your string like that might affect something down the line! I could be wrong but it just seems like not a good thing!

baldntatted 09-30-2007 03:52 PM

RE: #$#$#$#^

no it came with that on the bow.

That same thing happened to me a week before the season starts.[:@]

baldntatted 09-30-2007 06:10 PM

RE: #$#$#$#^

Bummer man, Glad your ok.

JeramyK 09-30-2007 07:14 PM

RE: #$#$#$#^

Wow, I am glad to hear your OK. Honestly, I would have had to change my drawers after that one. I worry about my string loop breaking or my release failing. But that thought hasn't crossed my mind!
