settingmy 20 yard pibn and shooting under 20 yards

when i got my bow with the help of the bow pro at the shop we set my sights and so on

when i went to set my pin i wonted it set 10 20 30 but the pro said toset it at 20 30 40 so i did. He said by setting it at 20 i could shoot from 0 to 20 with no proplem because under 20 it is so close the diff wont matter.

is this true. And if not i gusses i need to go slap the guy lol

i dont have a pin for 10 yards and never will.....the way bows shoot these days and how well they are made...hes right..you might shoot 1" high at 10 yards but thats nothing hard to compensate for.

Depending on your shooting rig, you'd probably be off by an inch or two at best. The absolute best thing to do -- and one you really need to do anyway -- is to step off 10 yards from the target and see for yourself what your POI (point of impact) is by putting your 20-yard pin right on the bullseye at 10 yards. That way, you'll know how to compensate.

Don't feel bad though that you've never thought about it (at least your post sounded like you haven't done it yet; otherwise, there'd be no need to ask the question :))... Most guys don't know they need to use their 50- or 60-yard pin at 3 yards, either! ;)

I would just leave it be and as Greg has mentioned ,you most likely would only be out 1" at that distance ,and you can certainly compensate for that . Most hunter's start at 20yrds and go up from there . You'll be just fine .

As Greg say's step off 10 trds and see just how high you may be ,you may not even need to compensate from that range .

This is gonna sound kinda dumb but my pins are set at 23, 33, 42, 51, and 60. I have em set 23, 33, & 42 is the distances to where the deer come out exactly. 51 & 60 are just for fun. For me if I shoot 10 yds or less I aim a bit low with the 20 yd pin. 11-25 yds I am right on, and so forth. Not much help just some ramblin.

Sorry, but most of us have been around too long. This is totally impossible. Measure the distance between your arrow and your 20 yard pin. What? Maybe 4" between them? If you shoot as 0 yards this is how low your arrow will hit.
