I set one pin at 15 and one at 25...The main thing is set them and shoot enough so you know where to hold at different ranges...

Shooting from an elevated tree stand changes all of these impact points though...

Its because of the arrow trajectory.

Most guys don't know they need to use their 50- or 60-yard pin at 3 yards, either
Ive knew about that and i do it, but i dont undersand it...

I have two pins a 30 yrd and a 45 yrd. I can shoot out to 35 yrds with the 1 pin and then the other pin for further if necessary. I never have need to shoot further then 30 yrds though.

NO,it is because the sight pin is HIGHER than the arrow. The trajectory hasn't come into play yet.

The sight pin is higher because the trajectory is different for 20 yrds versus 40 yrds.

i would keep it at 20-30-40 i get very little difference at ranges less than 20

Not if you bend at the waist and keep your form perfect above it... I can pick out a leaf at 20 or30 yards and drill it with the those pins from a treestand just like I can hit the bullseye from ground level.

I agree with every one else my first pin is 20 and so on. And as far as the elevateed position i hit the same spot but, i dont feel that there is a need to jump all over the guy he was trying to help.

It is higher because of where your anchors line up with your eye as well.

The distance from the arrow to your eye will determine what you need to shoot the extremely close shots for.I can change my peep setting and it will change what the same 3 yard shot should be shot for.
