Guys, my fieldpoints were flying true out to 35 yds. I screwed on the Slick Tricks and the G5 Strikers. What a dissapointment. ( Being my season opens Monday[:@]) The broadheads both flying 4 to 6 inches left. No problem, I just move the sight over to the left. Few adjustments, and dead on again. Now I screwed some fiel points on and shot 6 shots. All 4 to 6 inches right. What the heck does this mean and can someone help me correct it if need be? Quickly. I do not want to screw up Monday. I will not.

Your bow is not tuned. You will need to move your rest in toward the bow most likely. You're not fixing the problem by only moving the sights. Yes, that will put your broadheads dead on but will throw off the field points.

It means your spine is a little stiff. Generally, if you were to move your rest just a hair to the right (If I recall correctly)it would bring your field tips and broadheads together. You will still have to adjust your sight a bit. But, in reality, if your season starts Monday the best thing to do right now may be adjust your sight to the broadheads and then retune your bow when you have the time.

Not to dog you but this is a good reason to be shooting broadheads at least a month before the season opens. Gives a person time to work out the kinks.

Sorry to say it, but never wait till the last minute to shoot broadheads through your bow. I guess you know that now though.

I know, I know. I trusted too many people saying my broadheads (Slick Tricks and Strikers) would group with field points. Now, first of all, the field points shoot bullet holes thru paper at 15 yds. So, what is the purpose of moving the rest if the bow is paper tuned and shooting bullet holes? I am confused as to how moving my rest "out of paper tune alignment" is going to help my broadhead flight. I am going to take your advice brucelanthier and wait till later in the week to try and correct this issue. My shots are perfect from 35 yds on ground or in tree right now. I do not want to tinker before opening day. But could someone please explain the above to me?

I am old school and used to be a believer on the paper tune.

This year I did the paper tune and then did the walk back tune.

I had to make some more adjustments with the walk back (I still don't understand why)

Long story - short= These arrows are the best shooting I have ever done.

Screwed the broad heads on (Snuffer SS = Have never used this brand before) they shot about 1/2 off

Moved the rest less than a 1/16"=same hole as field points.

Took the new style BH off and screwed an old BH on = same hole

Walk back tune made a believer out of me.

CUZ you are jammed up for time I would stay with the sight adjustment until you have some time.

The walk back tune might take 20 minutes tops.

That is 20 minutes well spent.

Tune your bow and shoot broadheads much earlier than three days before you hunt!I shoot my broadheads for months before hunting,anyway good luck.

Just tune to the broadheads for now and hunt.

Shooting thru paper at 15 yards is pretty useless, the arrow has straightened out by then. Try paper at like 5- 7yds. to see how the arrow is LEAVING the bow. My bet is that you will have some tearing. Also, do it with field points to get a "true" reading.
