It's being reported around southeast missouri as well. My hunting buddy called me today and said that a coworker of his had taken his son on the Peck Ranch CA youth hunt this past weekend. At the pre hunt orientation, the officials told them that bluetongue was in the herd and to expect to see some sick/dead deer. I think the hunt had something like 60 hunters and they killed 5 deer. It's raining right now and that should help some by dispersing the deer's water holes, but frost is what we need......[:@]

Yea its happening pretty badly in my area. My friend just found a dead 10 point about a week ago next to a water hole. My area has been in a huge drought this whole year. It is frickin umbelievable. This whole summer i can only recall it ranning two times. The ponds everywhere are like 4-5 ft low and thats whats causing these knats to grow. My area wont be seeing any frost likely till the middle of November. Right now weather.com is saying that 10 days from now the weather is supposed to be back in the 80's with no rain from now till then. When was the last time we had 80 degree temp. towards the end of october?

Ive lost a few deer to it this year in MD.... Either blue tounge, or EHD, most likely EHD.... Never got them diagnosed... I know of atleast 3, but ive heard neighboring farmers had some die too...
