i always figured all animals would run the other way if they smelled smoke. why? because the only two times they would smell smoke would be from human campfires.....or two the woods are on fire!
Have you ever sat on a hilltop in the early morning and seen the valley blanketed by a beautiful layer of smoke coming from chimneys and wood stoves? I see it every year, and I watch lots of deer walk down the hillsides right through the smoke to feed in the fields of winter wheat. I don't think it's the smoke that frightens them. Campers around the fire, and the actual fire in the woods may, but the smoke doesn't seem to bother them.

I just checked the product out. Very first thing I thought of when I saw it...that's just a beekeeping smoker. I think you can find a beekeeping smoker for half the price, if not cheeper.

On the site they say it is a "modified smoker" - that is probably what that means.
I would rather buy from them that if it doesn't work no one can say it was because I didn't have the right type of smoker :D
We shall see how well it works.

I'm wondering......If this works could you use a liquid smoke type of spray to freshen up your boots and such while in the field? I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work if smoke scent does what they say it does.

I'm hunting tomorrow, and it's going to be HOT. I'm not buying one of these right now, but I'm going to fire up my smoker grill 1st thing in the morning and see if it works.

I got busted on opening day, there is just NO WAY to contain human odor in this heat, scent killer gets quickly diluted on your head and face in short order and I really don't want the extra movement of spraying myself every 10-15 minutes.

I know their device should concentrate the smoke more than I will be able to, but I'm going to try it anyway. I'll let y'all know if it works.

I wouldn't use any of the liquid smoke personally. Even though it may smell like smoke to us, they maybe able to smell a bunch of the other junk that is in liquid smoke and bust ya.

True, I don't really know what else is in it. I'm going to try some real hickory smoke though. I'm intrigued by their explanation that sweating increases the cover and logically follow it, I've smelled smokier after sweating in moderately smokey clothes.

As hot as it is, I will definitely be sweating, and I used a boatload of scent killer saturday and was busted at 50 yards. If this doesn't work I'll just wait until it cools off, but the extended forecast shows the next 2 weeks to be HOT, I gotta try something.

If your worried about having to refresh the smell on maybe your boots. Take a bag of ash with ya and rub it on.
