I catch myself.....now....when I see a deer approaching.....thinking....."I hope it's a doe".

Granted....I can already tell by the body size....that it's NOT a buck I'm interested in.....and I am targeting does (and not young bucks). I'd rather have a deer I'm actually interested in taking come in.....so that's what I've caught myself thinking as of late.

Weird, huh?.....

This time of year I'm usually thinking "Please don't let that be another squirrel!!!"

I don't think that's weird. I also think it is pretty cool when you see a deer that you know you're not going to shoot at. No pressure, just sit back and watch, and enjoy.

GMMAT I think the exact same thing. I have a thing for old mature Does![8D][8D][8D] I kinda go hunting for Does and if a Buck happens by, bonus!

Given the ratio I have, here....and what I'm trying to do (better it)....that's the way I'll hunt for probably a few years to come. I don't have any problem with it!

No problem here either, shooting a mature doe isn't easy!!!!! I put myself on Doe trails all Pre/Rut last season hoping to shoot a Doe! I went days only seeing bucks that never offered a shot! I was kinda bummed I didn't see a giant Doe!

After filling both buck tags last year and having 2 doe tags left I was thinking that way!

Jeff,
I think many people think that. We get 6 tags here in Oklahoma and can only shoot 2 bucks. So flat heads are a good sight to see!
