Default Strategies for dealing with other hunters

Has anybody ever considered creating "fake" deer sign to fool other hunters? The farm I hunt is basically public land - the farmer lets anybody hunt who asks. I'm constantly having other hunters move in on me. I set up my stands in July, and these guys come in the first week of November and throw up ladder stands and bait pilesright next to me and screw up my prime spots right before the rut starts.

I bet if I loaded up the other end of the property with dozens of fake scrapes and about 30 rubs, these guys would fall for it and leave me alone LOL! [8D]

My friend found a bait pile here on LI. Its illegal to bait here. He put rubs and scrapes all around this persons area. I dont know the outcome but its hilarious!

I made a huge scrape one year about 20 yards from my brothers bow stand, he thought it was real, then I placed one last year at the base of his rifle stand and he thought that was real....you should have seen his face.

If you have an extra treestand, that isn't the best, hang it in the area to farther entice them.

Yes, in fact that is the only reason I make mock scrapes. I'll make a scrape where I know the deer are not going to be and tell the other hunter about it. He'll sit right there until the season ends.

Disclaimer - I only do this to one guy, who happens to be a complete idiot. He is a danger to himself as well as others, and is an embarrassment to the human race.

I don't know if I would go that far to trick other hunters. Doesn't seem right to me.

Do you actually consider them hunters?

I wouldn't actually do it. The thought did cross my mind, though
