Travis, there are better ways about going about asking landowners permission to hunt. Like in your scenerio above.

Sir, I'd not only be willing to bring all my garbage out with me, I'd be honored to assist you in cleaning up your property. I could patrol it and keep others out who may cause damage or leave garbage and I'd be willing to help you out in any chores that may be needed. etc. etc...etc...

You have to have thick skin and be professional and polite.

In order for my son and I to hunt on a friends propertywe had to build him a huge deck, he paid for the material but we did all the labor in the hot sun. Good part about it is he will not let anyone but us hunt his land. So like it was stated on the post before, see if there is anything you can do for him. Who knowsyou could get to be friends and then it would be benificial to both of you.

I do not know who posted about it, either GMMAT or Germ, maybe neither one, but they had some pointers on how to do it and they worked! I did not do them all but I had some property that I was wanting to ask about, but I did not know the guy and had a real uneasy feeling about it. I did the print out a aerial map trick and that guy was totally caught off guard. I think the map of his property impressed him! That was good advise to who ever gave it!

Both know and I know GMMAT has been very successful at getting permission where no one esle can or does.

i just had a guy offer to let me hunt his 400 tract took me out showed me a few good spotsand i helped him push his 65 mustang in his garage then he told him if he need any hel with food plots cutting and so ion i would be glad to . he told me that he had abuck that had a off rack big on one side and small on the other. and he would like to get ride of it butdid not wont to waste hisbuck tag. so i told him i would if i got a shot no matter to me what it looks like then he said he would show me where he hunts. which was a spot on a food plot that he had trouble with. and i toldim let me know whenhe need help and when i left he was all smiles do what ever you can to make them happy.
