Get a buckle my man. You go to draw back on the buck of a lifetime and it sounds like you butt cheeks comming apart after a night at Toco Hell. Not good, not good at all.

It's not taking it on and off, its when you draw back on the cold quiet morning and it sounds like well, see previous post about butt cheeks.

Interesting you should post this. Today I was drawing my bow back and heard/felt the velcro start to go. Before I've had the velcro give a little but never let go all the way. This time, despite my best effort to grab the release, it shot off my wrist.

Usually, I secure the release and then pull on it to set the velcro, 'specially before hunting. That eliminates the ripping noise.

I'm going to look into buckle releases again. When ended up getting velcro because the buckle ones were all too big for my wrist. [&o]

I'm still relatively new to using a release. It bugs me to not have my fingers on the string. Now I'm going to be really paranoid. [:'(]


BTW, I don't know what you guys are ordering from Taco Hell, but I can't imagine anybody's butt cheeks making a velcro noise.

I'm with Red Lion. I use a velcro and havent hd any problems with it and put it on before I head out and take it off once back to my vehicle. I keep it on for the walk to and from the stand just so I am ready if I happen to get a chance to take a deer while on the ground walking. And since its usually cool/cold when I hunt it isn't in the way climbing into/from the stand as I fold it back and tuck in in my shirt sleeve just so it doesn't get in the way and make me slip. I also just started bow hunting last year and this is just the one I bought. I haven't seen the buckle style yet but the velcro one I have seems nice and is comfortable. Doesn't make any noises while drawing the bow either,no butt sounds!

ive never heard of it coming undone. but i have worried about it. i would go to a buckle if i used a release

Buckle is the only way to go!

Killed more deer with a Scott velcro than most folks will ever see. The buckle, when bumped against your stand or bow makes a lot more racket than the soft velcro. When the velcro starts getting worn - replace it.
