I shot a scott with velcro encloser for almost 15 years or more and never had a problem with it coming undone, but finally wore the release out and just bought a new scott with a buckle and i think i like a buckle better, definatly less noisey.

Never had a velcro. Started with a buckle, staying with the buckle.

To bad about wacking yourself. I use a truball copperhead XT with velcro and much prefer over a release with a buckle. I don't get why everyone is concerned about the noise a release with velcro makes? I put mine on prior to leaving for stand and take it off when back out to pack up. Do you guys take your releases off often when on standor what? Mine does not make any noise doing things while wearing it, so whats up? I also have no concern about the two layers of velcro giving out.
