Default Gloves and Face Cover

I'm new to bow hunting this year. Been practicing since winter. My season here in NY starts Sept. 27 (next Thursday). Does anyone here reccommend that I usethin camo gloves and a camo face cover? I didn't know if it really makes a big difference ornot. Anyhelp is appreciated.

It's a personnal choice. I've been bowhunting for 36 years. The first year or two I used my army camo sticks. Then I switched to gloves and a mask. In the beginning I made my own. I'd be lost with out it now. I like it because it keeps a lot of bugs at bay and also helps to keep out some of the chill on cold days. Heck, on real cold days I wear a balaclava and a camo mask. I do cut out one big opening for my eyes so my view is not obstructed in anyway. If this is your first year with the bow in NY how can you hunt the early bow season which starts the 27th. You have to have a bow license from last year to hunt those 4 days.

I have always worn a mask. But in the last few years I have only worn gloves on the way in to keep my scent under control and the have taken my release glove off when in the stand. I like having the same feel that I have shot most of the year with.

I use gloves and a face mask in hot, warm or cold weather. IMO use a face mask over face paint/camo, as the camo gives off too much scent.

Mask always. Traditioanly I have only worn gloves when it's cold but this year I will be using both. I am sick and tired of being bitten by those frickin' skeeters

I wear gloves and a head covering made out of mesquito net type material. It's loose fitting and I think I can hear better through it than through a tight-fitting head cover, although I have to shave because otherwise my beard rubs against it and sounds like rustling leaves. It's also better in warm weather because it lets air circulate but keeps bugs out.

In cold weather I put a camo fleece cap over the top of my head (but not over my ears). In REALLY cold weather I wear a camo balaclava/ski mask-type head covering and those flip-back camo mitten things with the cut-off finger holes under the flip-back top, with thin camo gloves underneath the outer mitten thing.

I used to use the camo paint stuff but too messy plus I have been sportin a full beard for the past few years. I use a glove on my Bow hand and keep my release hand in my pocket for warmth etc... I wear a hat and a face mask or gator depending on how cold it is! I just wish Predator made a cold weather type hat?????

If it is still pretty hot out when our Bow Season opens on Sept 15,I wear the camo mesh head gear and my thin net camo gloves,as it gets colder I wear the tight fitting camo gloves and the solid camo head covering....when it gets very cold I put on my green balaclava and then put the camo head covering and and wear the thicker camo gloves!
