RE: Rage 2-Blade / Rocky Mtn. Snyper question
ORIGINAL: GMMAT Don't really want to discuss the "fixed/Mech." issue...just a specific question regarding the mechanicals I reference in the thread header. How does one practice with these heads? Take blades off? Cinch shut? Thanks for your help. I practice with the rages using the free practice head that comes with them. I will always use a real one as well though to make sure it is hitting where it needs to. If the bow is anywhere close to being tuned, they hit the same spot as field points. I will papertune the bow, then walkback tune the bow, then make sure field points and rages are hitting the same spot. I know I have posted this picture several times Jeff, so I apologize if you have seen this before but if you get the Rages, get some replacement Rocket rubber bands as well to put around the outside of the blades using needle nose pliers. The blade retention system isn't quite as good out of the box as the Snypers in my opinion, but the extracutting diameter is worth it......I believe the Snypers are 1.5" and the Rages are 2". Once you put the extra bands on, they won't accidentally open in your quiver, or if you bump a branch with the arrow........they will still open pushing through a piece of copier paper as well. Here is a pic with the extra bands....... ![]() |
RE: Rage 2-Blade / Rocky Mtn. Snyper question
Longbeard:
I never claimed anything was "wrong" witht he Muzzy heads. They've taken 7 deer, for me. They work. I can't explain the lack of blood on this last doe......and I'm darned proud of the shot placement. I'm just willing to give something else a go. Nothing more to it than that. |
RE: Rage 2-Blade / Rocky Mtn. Snyper question
I'm shooting the rage2-blades this year too! No real problem w/ the Muzzy's. I may still go back to them. They did not hit in the same POI as the FP's and we tried tuning all ways. These work exactly the same for me.
