Well, I wish it was movies. Not sure what you're getting at, but we did have a land owner get kidnapped and there are drug problems in the rual SE portions of our state. I'm not making that up.

Cool thing is we have the choice and the right to carry and defend ourselves. If you choose not too that's your right. I just know that I could never live with myself if I watched anyone I care about get killed while I set there with my thumb up my butt wishing I had a weapon. I NEVER want to use my weapon. But I will if I have too.

I'm just curious. Why do you think more would be killed if more people carried? You need to remember we are talking about law abidding citizens here. People who are reasonable and have every right to defend themselves against the idiots who have no respect for your life or liberties.

Survival Blankie (for those cold days when mommy's warm busomis far, far away)


Submachine Gun (to kill yourself once you become too afraid to continue hunting)


Air Horn (to signal for help)


Survival Bottle


Flare Gun (use as a rescue aid or as a weapon)


Land Mine (in case the criminals are in hot pursuit)


Angry Pet Spider Monkey (very protective of their owners) - your final line of defense.


Bodybags (for all the bad guys).

Here in VA it is legal to carry a sidearm during bow season, provided you have a CWP (which I do). We have way too many coyotes up in the mountains.

The way I see it, if the law says I can carry a handgun while bowhunting, I'm going to carry it!

I'm not speaking from experience but everything I've read about large bears (grizzlies) saysthose small calibers most of you guys are carrying would probably piss them off more than anything else.

Just last year Indiana allowed personal protection permit owners to carry while bowhunting. I did last year and will continue to as long as it is legal. While we have no lions or bears we do have the Meth-heads. It is sad but this stuff is everywhere in my part of the state. I have came across several old labs. Plus if I catch bloodcreek (a.k.a. Dink) in my woods I will shoot him in the a**. Carry a Glock 9mm.

So let me ask you this then, if legal, would you carry normally. When you go to the store. Out with the family, walking down the street at night, ect.

Some of you "tough guys" crack me up. Just remember that there isa big difference between being tough online and being tough when it matters.

I only carry when I am in areas where the locals are known to rob and steal from "tourists" hunting in "their" lands. I have been in enough rough spots (no not hunting)to know that not even one of these self-proclaimed tough guys on herecan take 3 guys at one time.

Yes, I realize the odds are slim, but here are some other things that virtually never happen:
1. child abductions - so you shouldn't worry about your kids right?
2. house burglery - so you don't lock your door?
3. lightning strikes - you dance with your golf clubs in a thunderstorm?
4. falling from a treestand - no safety strap?
5. rape - you don't ever worry about your wife

I simply refuse to be a statistic or a victim and fist fights are for the immature, inexperienced folks who haven't been there enough to realize that no one really wins a fist fight. Also, anyone who claims to have never lost a fight simply has not been in very many or is lying.

It's illegal in Illinois but I always have. I'll takemychances with the conservation officers.
