Between the Hogs and the stupid people I always carry. Had two run ins with sows in thick brush and had one land owner kidnapped by escaped cons. ( fortunatley he'sok, took him andhis truck the tied him up to fence post just outside of town and left him) I ALWAYS CARRY.

I carry a .380 when I leagally can. In Texas, archery season starts one month before the general season. During the archery season, you are only allowed a bow and no firearm at all (unless you have a concealed handgun license). During the general season, you can carry a handgun.

Sounds like some of you girls need to man-up doggy. 'Fraid the boogie man's gonna getcha or what? Do you guys wear miniskirtswhile you hunt, too?

I guess I can understand... in Timberwolf, grizzly, lion country, fine. But we have nancies here in PA who insist on packing to their treestands. Haha.

If you're afraid of the dark, you're just plain skeered of the dark. No way around it. Hey, if a barred owl or a distant coyote makes the hair on your neck stand up - maybe you should just get out of the stand a little early and hotfoot it back to the truck - or just stay on the porch. Your pistol isn't gonna save you from scary noises and your own imagination.

It's not the animals and soundsthat bother me as much as the STUPID PEOPLE. Hogs I can deal with, but the 45 is nice to have. Drug dealers, escapees, and the local idiots who think that they have the right to hunt anywhere they want even if the place is posted,they just get out right stupid.I know of people who have had run ins with all three onone of the places I like to hunt.

Remember all the cops can do is make a report , contact your kin, and haul off your dead body. It's your responsibility to defend yourself and your family.

I remember last year, just on opening day alone, I saw 3 drug dealers, 11 meth heads and a chain gang that must haveescaped from the Federal Penitentiary. Very scary out there.

Next year, I'm either taking my sawed-off, or staying home with my mommy.

Take it however you want, but we had the land owner kidnapped 4 years ago by escapees. There are two federal prisons withing 50 miles of the place.

I the SE part of the state we also have problems with people growing thier own crops in remote areas.You go into some of the towns and realize that several groups of people don't have jobs but drive $50000 trucks. Its because they grow thier own crops for resale or get plane drops out in the woods. You accidently walk into thier camp you've got problems.
I just hope that one day everyone can hunt in your utopian world where we all hold hands and sing. In the mean time I pray I will never have to usemy weapon, but I will always be prepared.

I have to agree with quicksilver.... Some of you guys have watched too many movies.... I would guess more people will be killed b/c they are carrying than if they were not.....
