RE: How accurate do you feel you should be?
ORIGINAL: Rob/PA Bowyer ORIGINAL: Greg / MO Yep, gr8 nailed it... I've come to accept the 1" rule for every 10 yards as being fairly proficient, e.g., 1" groups at 10 yards, 2" groups at 20 yards, 3" groups at 30 yards, etc. Can you go hunting and be "proficient" with less? Sure. Most of the guys I hunt around can't come anywhere close to this standard... but that's what I aim for, and can maintain pretty well. He we all know your Terry Rasdale jr but not everybody has your potential I would say realisticly... At 20 yards for a novice shooter prob somewere around 2 to 3 inchs... An d as far as 30 yards goes... Unless you really feel good about the shot I would just let the deer walk... You will prob wind up with a F-up tracking job and not find the deer anyhow... 30 yards is a far shot in the woods dude;) I agree but I tend to hold myself to a higher degree as I am my biggest competitor. I'm not happy if it isn't 2" at 40 yards and even 50 at times. |
RE: How accurate do you feel you should be?
Probably but you'll have to pay full price..you just shot up your AARP card! And that was with a recurve right Bob? NO! Those are feild points. and it's illegal to hunt with them |
