Default 1st doe of the 07 season

Today was a long and exhausting day. Family issues kept me out of the woods this morning, but I was able make it out for the evening hunt. 1 hour after I was set up and dozenes of squirrels & chipminks later, I doe came slinking thru the brush. She was already at 20 yds. I stand and prepare for a shot. She looped around some and came out into the goldenrod field facing me. After several steps she decided to turn broadside and I decided to shoot her. About 25 yds(ranged previously), she musy have started ducking and turning at the shot cause I hit her high and back. Down she went with the spine shot, and a quick exit of the stand for a finisher and it was over. Not ideal, but it is what it is. I'll be eating inner tenderloins for breakfast. The rest of her went to the Hunters Sharing the Harvest Program.

Here's a pic, yea it's a truck one, but after the drag I had, there was no way I was taking her out for pics and putting her back in.

Way to go rybo, how'd it feel to hunt legally in PA for whitetails in mid SEPT? I bet that was a good feeling. Now if we could get the season for bucks and does open from now through the rut...LOL

BTW, I am not going to criticize you for the pic in the back of your truck or the blood, or the directly below you shotinstead of abroadside shot; but I bet some busy body here will.
