I'm glad no one took it as me complaining. I had my opportunities this past week....and I know I'll have plenty more. Heck.....I came to full draw 5 times in one week! I wish I could bottle that feeling and sell it.

David....I sat in the same tree, last year, only twice in 46 hunts. I move......even if it's 30-60yds from a previous stand location. I have plenty of trees to utilize, here.

Chris.....I'd love to pattern them.....but I simply don't have the access. I KNOW where they sleep. I know where they're eating right now. I can't get in between the two spots. Once they get on the acorns.....I'm "hoping" their pattern from last year will get back to "normal". If it does.....I'll be seeing more deer. Time will tell.

I'll be back at it, Tuesday. The woods won't see me today or tomorrow.

Jeff,

Even if the beans are harvested (which I'm sure is about done), there will still be tender second
growth which they love.
Not in PA, once our beans are harvested, it's pretty much a barren field. At least the bean fields I've seen picked, it's always in Nov.

PA was expected to have frost warnings last night across the northern tier, It feels it this morning here at the house. Man I would have loved to have been in a tree this morning but alas, no season, no Sunday hunting and you know, the leg.

I came to full draw 5 times in one week! I wish I could bottle that feeling and sell it.
I'd be buying some of that for the next couple weeks. What do ya suppose that would sell for and in what kind of quantities? I'm betting it'd be better than my Percocet which I quit taking weeks ago.

Jeff,
It could be worse, you could have to wait another 27 days until your season opens. I've been sitting in my living roomreading all these posts and just drooling with envy. I wish I was out there right now. Perfect morning for a bow hunt. It didn't frost last here night, but it came darn close. I wouldn't be surprised if someof the NY Southern Teirhad frost though.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Since then.....I saw3 Monday. Zero, Tuesday. Zero, Wednesday. 2 Thursday.ZERO, this morning and 1,this evening.....a glimpse of a deer in the thick stuff at 4:30PM.
You're being patterened. You've tracked two deer through those woods, and I'm sure they're pretty scented up. Hopefully, you've gotton some rain, or will get some. Might want to give it a few days, or move off the secnt trails you've created. Good luck.

Could be a valid point, valor. It's a tough call juggling whether or not to hunt.....when you have a relatively small set of woodlots to hunt. I'm torn between not being out there to get one......and being out there TOO much.

We did get rain all day long, Friday. That helped. Like I said....I think I'll be fine in a few weeks.
