Update: The Buck That Finally Gave Me An Opportunity
Hey guys,
I posted back in Sept about my first quality buck. Well, yesterday I got that call I've been waiting for, and acually didn't gun hunt the afternoon so I could go pick him up (evening forcast was for light and variable, so you all know what that means - plus it's a doe only season)
Just thought I'd put up the update, and show how he turned out. The taxidermist was able to save the velvet that was hanging off, and I'm pretty happy with it. For those who are wondering, he scored 108 (1/2). Now I've gotta try to get in the books (as if any of us EVER stop trying).
P.S. Does anyone else's dog's HATE these things? My young lab (2) walks in with the mo-hawk up, growls at it, stares for a minute, and walks back out. It's like he doesn't trust him and is keeping an eye on him. He'll get over it, I just think it's pretty funny.
