Ripcord Rest...somethin ain't right...got any pics?
#1
Okay so I was shooting a WB and decided to switch to a drop away. I chose the Ripcord for many reasons but I just had it installed and tuned and man is it loud. When I test it, it slaps the arrow shelf and is very loud. I put a piece of moleskin on it but it is still very loud. When looking at the rest from the side view, the tips of the arrow forks point up a tad when the rest is laying on the shelf, is it supposed to be at a downward angle or an upward angle? I am talking a very slight angle.
Got any pics of your Ripcord on? I want to compare because I might need to run my bow back up to my shop and have them fix this.
Thanks!
Mike

I DONT HAVE A PICTURE BUT I DO SHOOT A RIPCORD,IM LOOKN AT MY OUTBACK RIGHT NOW THE PRONGS SHOULD BE POINTED DOWN VERY,VERY SLIGHTLY ALMOST SO YOU CANT NOTICE,THE PRONGS ARE ALSO NOT TOUCHING ANYTHING,IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE IT MOUNTED TO LOW,IS IT TOUCHING THE TOP OF YOUR HANDLE?,ONE OTHER THING SOME RESTS JUST WONT WORK ON SOME BOWS,MY FRIEND HAS ONE OF THOSE RESTS THAT R LIKE A RIPCORD BUT ITS NOT,HIS BOW WAS DOING THE SAME THING BECAUSE HIS REST WASNT FALLN AWAY FAST ENOUGH,THE SPRING WASNT STIFF ENOUGH,HE PUT ON A RIPCORD AND HAS NEVER HAD THAT PROBLEM SINCE.THE NAME OF THE OTHER REST IS ULTRA,TRY AND REMOUNT AND RETYE THE CORD TO YOUR BOS CABLE

I shoot a Rip Cord. Make sure it, the launcher arm, does "not" contact the shelf. I will make some noise when it is clear of the shelf, but not enough to alarm the animal you're going to shoot.
I put some moleskin on the shelf as well.
It's a great rest. I've killed severaldeer and bear with mine. No problem with mine.

maybe you should try a shelf pad i think sims makes them their a little thicker than mole skin, and are designed to soak up the noise,i have a quad setup like your rip cord and i used a thick fuzzy type of mole skin on the forks and it works great,i mean if its all tuned and ready to go,just a thought.............

Why screw with it anymore, just take it back to the shop you deal with it and allow them to set it up correctly
