RE: My first bow Whitetail

Thanks again everyone. I am proud of that doe since last year I shot one and we never found her which really made me wonder if I should even bow hunt anymore. I was even debating on whether or not to shoot this doe.

Well I got in my stand before daylight and I stayed in stand until 9:30 and didnt see anything...except 2 raccoons. I decided to go squirrel hunting for a bit since I figured that there wouldnt be much deer movement. I sat down with my gun for 15 minutes and I had a feeling to go get back in my stand. So i did:)

Not even 30 minutes later I seen a six point buck still in velvet, then about 5 minutes after he walked through 3 does came in and neither one gave me a shot. About 15 minutes later 3 more does came in following a cat....and hung around under my stand. I waited for them all to look away so I could draw my bow back and by that time I was shaking like a leaf.

As soon as one gave me a shot I took it. Put the pin on her and let the arrow fly. I was shocked that a 45 pound bow could make the arrow go completely through a deer, but I guess it can. She jumped up in the air and kicked her legs back and ran with her tail tucked. I knew I had a good shot. I sat for about 15 minutes to calm myself down and got down to check the arrow.

There was good blood and I felt so good about the shot. I waited about an hour until I went to look for her. I found her about 50 yards away from my stand, and I was as happy as can be!!:)Sorry for the long story
