Just my little opinion here but do a wash with nothing but Baking soda
in the washer first then 2nd load do your cloths. All that scent from regular detergent can try to be flushed this way.

I do the same thing as GMMAT, I buckle them together (those are some big buckles on the HSS)I also make sure I wash it with my other hunting clothes to kinda fill up the washer, less of a chance for it to bang around. I just use unscented detergent with my hunting clothes and I dry them in the dryer. The vest I hang dry.
