Terror in the Field: Tentacles of Death
#1
Tentacles of death. I hate these things.
AKA Multiflora Rose, a non-native, super invasive species.
Beware when approaching these things. If you get too close, the first thing that happens is they will grab your hat right off your head. When you try to retrieve it, they will grab your face and slice it to bits and throw your hat further into their habitat. Once your hand is on your hat, they then proceed to wrap around your whole body. Do not move fast! The more you struggle, the more trapped you become. Slowly reach for your pruners and carefully cut yourself free. At best, you will need at least one or two blood transfussions and a new set of camos. These things will easily shred a new carhart in seconds flat![:-]
Lets be careful out there. Consider yourself warned!

Yeah those are a real pain! Place I hunt turkeys in JoDaviess county is full of it, but the deer and cows seem to like it since their pats are all in between it. Like getting their hides scratched!

My stepdad has been known to put his stands in trees with it to keep people out of them because it doesn't make him break out.
He may have built up an immunity from when he was younger, not sure what the correct term would be but not anyone can get it.
The same thing is true for chiggers, the swelling and itching are allergic reactions.

That's Gospel GregH, I've had my run in with many of those and it's usually not pretty.
I've lost some very nice camo "outfits" to those nasty critters as well.[&:]
