Well after a long summer and alot of anticipating it is finally opening day of bow season for our region in NC. Getting geared up to head out when I get off work about 5 in the a.m. Got everything waiting and hopefully the deer got the message and are planning to attend the meeting at about 7. HAHA.....

No we cannot hunt deer with dogs in our area. If you go toward the coastal region they do, but thats not my type of hunting anyway. We breed and raise Treeing walker coonhounds. I love to hunt night or day and my fiance loves to show hounds as well.
Now as for this morning.....The deer dropped the ball and forgot about our meeting. Not much of anything moved this morning saw one squirrel, and after a few hours decided I didn't like that setup, so we pulled it and are hunting a differant location this evening.

Well this evening made all the endless hours in the woods and suffering through all the heat worth it. I had taken my fiance's little brother hunting last year for the first time and got him hooked, but unfortunately he never got the chance to take one. Well today it payed off. I put him in one of my best stands, I usually only hunt during the rut, and about 6:45 he sent me a message and he has now joined the ranks of the bow hunters. HAHA. Makes what we do worth it. 125 lb doe....
