I presume they mean from sitting in a stand? If so I would have to evaluate the situation, If I can see the deer, I KNOW FOR A FACT that it would see me trying to get up or down a tree, I an convinced that deer for the most part are more alarmed by movement than by anything else. I have had deer right under my stand looking up at me in Camo and stomp and try to figure me out,but did not spook. I have also had deer 75 yards away while I was in Camo and saw me stand up and spooked right away.In conclusion ,I would let it pass.Maybe come back the next day and HOLD on to my bow.

If I was in my stand I would get down immediately to see what kind of damage was done to my bow.:)

I would enter stealth mode. Down down and first check the bow, and put an arrow in and shoot it. But that's only if it is all possible.

I would retrieve it from my treestand using my rope from which I pull the bow up in the first place. I have snaps at both ends of my rope and I make sure to have some type of hook with me because I've been there/done that....not my bow but calls, clothes etc..and I hook them and pull them up...

Makes for a great tip.

Chuckle a little, then chaulk up another one to Murphy's Law. Climb down, gather up my gear and head for the house so I can check everything ouy on my bow before I shoot it again.

KEEP IT LEGAL. KEEP IT SAFE. OR WE MAY NOT GET TO KEEP IT AT ALL.

If the deer didn't already spook at the movement and noise from the bow falling, I would freeze and wait for it to pass and then quietly climb down and retrive my bow and then would try to coax it back my way with a method appropriate for the existing conditions.
