Snuff in stand
 

I was just pondering this today at work. Would apple flovored chew have a bit better scent control over you breath? Or do you guys just chew you regular flavor? I just thought that maybe apple flavored would give off an almost scent lure. Or does anyone think this is pure rubbish. I dipped in my stand all last year, and got ragged on it by my budds for giving off scent.

RUBBISH!!! ITS HORRID HORRID RUBBISH!!!![:'(][:'(][:'(].....Nah I kinda doubt that deer would be attracted to it, I dip the Hagen.:D

Agreed!! Rubbish! [:'(] I stick with my normal Skoal straight.:D I normally try to spit either in a bottle or on the carpeted platform of my lock on.

This question come around every year...........stick to what you has gotten you over the years! I ama reformed chewer but the only time I got busted for chewing was by now wife and NOT by any DEER!

i stick with my old stand by grizzly straight, no complaints from the deer.

i stick with my Skoal Straight. i usually try to clear a bit of leaves from under my stand off to a side...the side i dont climb up lol. i spit into the bar dirt, and also wizz into it. ive never had deer effected by it...that i know of. had a mature doe and fawn come in one evening. the doe fed DIRECTLY under my stand...i overhunted that stand. must wizzed from it 10x...had 15-20 dips from there...all that spit and all the old dips laying down there...she didnt even flinch. heck, she could been eating it for all i know. i watched my buddy give copenhagen to a horse. it ate the whole can. loved the stuff lol..

Now thats funny right there lol. seems that can get a lil pricey though.

My brother does it and he snacks on the stand and he sees more deer than anybody. I don't think
it will hurt too much.

Nothing much worse than taking a swig from what you thought was your beer can and it is somebody's
dip can. [&:]

I carry a bottle and limit the amount I use in the stand. The old timer that taught me a lot about hunting used to chew Beechnut leaf. I occasionally pick up a pack for deer season just as a tribute to one of the greatest people I ever knew. One day I had a plug of the 'nut in and had a doe and two fawns come in.They walked right to the bottom of my tree and stood around. I didn't want to risk raising the bottle and have them see me but I just couldn't resist what I did next. I had a mouthful of juice that needed to go real fast. I let it run from my lips and scored a direct hit on this fawns head. You talk about funny? This deer starts looking around for whatever it was that just plunked her in the head. And try to figure out what that odor was between her ears was just beyond her! The very next day the three of them came back. The fawn had a dark brown stain right in the center of her head from the day before!

When i'm in my stand i like to chew gum or suck on a mint haven't had any problem so for. but i always make sure the winds in my favor.

I usually chew Skoal Fine Cut Wintergreen! Never had any problems, I just spit on the dirt below. Actually, last year, I had three deer under my stand (doe) and they never knew I was there, even spit on the back of one...never even phased them....ha.

I've been chewing kodiak for almost 20 years and I NEVER chew in my stand, other than your hair your breath gives off probably the most scent.. I always carry a couple apples and some spearament gum with me, dont know if the gum is any better than the chew but heard it is... Not sure about the apple chew, I have had the apple skoal and it sure smells appely and even tastes like apple so I would imagine it would be better than chew... (anythings better than that chokengagen, ha,ha) Good luck this fall... One other thing, no matter what, I wouldnt spit it on my platform or anywhere else for that matter, either gut it, or carry a tuner..

Kodiak here. I don't worry about it. Spit in a bottle.

I used to smoke. Now I dip. Some say the dip is worse than smoking. It probably is.

I can stay on stand all day. When I smoked...it was nearly impossible to go much more than 4 hours before lighting up.

I can't say that I miss the ol' smokers hack.

Nothin' worse than to have a piece of lung-butter dislodge when a decent animal is working in and try to keep that involuntary action of hacking it up from happening!

I dip Red Seal Fine Cut Wintergreen. I try not to dip in the stand, but I am also the type of person that worries to much about things that are going to go wrong during the hunt instead of just enjoying the time in the woods! This year if i feel the urge I'll slap a big hog in!!

I always put a fattie in when im out hunting helps keep me relaxed and makes the experience more enjoyable. I just brush off a few leaves and spit on the ground the deer could care less. The apple stuff wouldnt be much of a attractant in my opinion it smells apply and tastes apply but its not quite apply enough if that makes any sence. I'll stick to my copenhagen Lcor Wolf Wg Lc and be happy.

I am a grizzly man been dipping for 11 yrs. Personally I just wait till I get back to the trruck.

It's all Grizz Mint for me. I always have a spare spitter in my pack. It makes the hunt way better.

I used to Chew Skoal Straight, but at 5.25 per can, I started using Timber Wolf Straight, tastes better, get more and it cost 2.20 at Caseys or Wal- Mart.

Yes, and I spit right over the side. My brother had a fork horn circle around him and came right under his stand when he was dipping mint skoal once, I guess it made him curious.

I know for a fact that deer like mint snuff! I dropped a can and lost it allback when I chewed and long and behold thats how I got my very first buck back in 1996, he ate every last bit of it before I took him out, "hey thats my snuff!":)

I don't think the deer mind at all, I use to dip cope for 10 years and they never paid any attention to the spit on the ground. Also got white patches in my mouth that could be pre-cancerous and quit 2 months ago, at age 26.
