Just curious if you see deer everytime you go outdeer hunting? I dont have the privledge to hunt alot of private ground.So sometimes I have to hunt hard just to see deer?

EVERY TIME-NO-but most of the time

I usually see on average 4-5 deer every morning/afternoon, but the deer population is very high(45 per square mile). A friend of mine that hunts in a club across the highway from me sees an average of 8. When I hunted in public land, I was lucky to see 1 deer a day.

I average just over 7 sightings per hunt.....but there are days I go without seeing anything.

Average..Ohio I'd say 2.5

Average..PA I'd say 5

Everday is different. We are lucky to have private land hunting.


It all depends on how many local farmers get the DEER DESTRUCTION PERMITS ... We have a couple of guys that SLAUGHTER the deer fall and winter..

The same couple of farmers also hunt down the biggest ones in the area and 99% of the time do NOT report their kill / bucks back to the state...

On an average I would say 15 when hunting field edges both early season and around the rut. In the woods I would guess 7. Some days I have 20 or 30 deer in eyesight, some days maybe only a few deer.

That's a LOT of deer!

maybe 1 or 2....sometimes none....

10-15 years ago my average was 1 sightingper 3 times out. Now I expect to see at least a deer when I go out.
