lots of PAs big deer, and deer in general are in the suburbs and cities. why?? because the little woodlots that are left make perfect deer habitat and they are often not hunted...sometimes they are just overlooked...other times its owner permission and access. tough hunting for sure. i find it difficult because you gotta sneak in and out or your busted for the day...the wind changes and the whole woodlot just got your scent...
not sure if it turned out true or not, but a BIGGUN was supposedly killed in the city of Pittsburgh last bow season. not sure if it made the record or what ever happened with it...

There are some HUGE deer in my town on federal property that you can't hunt. If they leave the property (don't know why they would), good luck getting permission to hunt locally. Those few who can hunt have serious potential. The state archery record was taken in this county last year (172 7/8))

Yup, they are out there, but getting access to them is the trick. There are a lot of properties that don't allow hunting that act as sanctuaries, so you have to try to get access to neighboring properties and try to find bottlenecks during the rut.

I have a buddy that lives about 25 minutes from the Whitehouse that is eaten up with deer. He and his neibhors are going crazy having their plants and yards eaten. I now have sole permission to hunt the land (Archery Only). Here is the buck in his backyard that I have a mineral lick in. I can't wait for October 6th.
