This year will be the first year I hunt from a treestand.
I have tried a couple times before, a few years ago. But, I missed a nice buck and a nice bear.
So I quit trying stand hunt. Since then I have always stalked.
I am going to try it again. Anybody have some good advice?

Wear a safety harness

otherwise, bend at the waist when preparing to take a close shot rather than moving your arms or shouldersto aquire your target. maintain your upper body posture as if you were shooting flat on the ground.

What is a good height to hunt from?

Where ever you feel comfortable, I hunt about 22 feet, but I have hunted 12 before. Its all a comfort level. Don't let people tell you that you have to be 25 feet so the deer don't smell you.

You need to practice from the tree stand height as well! Totally different ball game hunting from an elevated position! Practice and wear a Harness!!!!!

I'm about 18 ft. up there, and I still see more than enough deer. To help with your accuracy you should start shooting from a higher elevation.

The height of my tree stand depends on the cover I have available. If I can get away with 12-15 ft I will. 10's even better! I don't go any more than 20 ft unless it's a forked tree and I know I will feel safe with another tree close. Yes I wear a saftey harness but something to put my hand on when I fall makes me feel even better. LOL

Practice at home from a stand. I put my climber on the telephone pole and have at it. Don't have no small trees close. Hope Verizon don't mind!
