Look for deer. Visualize what you will do when the moment comes. Watch the dozens of other critters you see while hunting. I would never look for something to do to pass time on stand. Somedays may be slow, but just thank the creator you are sitting there instead of somewhere else.

I do quite a bit of reading. I used to take an electric yatzee game. Got my high score in a Tennessee Tree Stand. Here lately I just try to soak up the whole environment. Study trees and birds and bugs and stuff like that.

I'm on the same page as Ryan,I am so pleased that I have an extended period of time that is truly mine I don't need any thing else.
All day sits can be brutal! If I had to have something to pass the time (although I have never done this) I would bring a small paper back book that I could quietly close and stuff in an out of the way pocket quickly.

I just look around. I never bring anything for entertainment. Hunting is my entertainment.

Yes, the mind wanders..Usually to reflect on how good things are, the Wife, the Kids, just life in General.

May I suggest knitting, quilting or even scapbooking.

I'm so happy to be away by myself for a while, I just relax, take a deep breath and enjoy the scenery...I've even been known to take a little nap..
