The demand for good genetics for the high fence operations is quite high, and the rest of the deer become venison for the commercial market. The venison in restaurants is farm raised. These same farms will sell you a large racked buck with good genetics for your high fenced operation. Besides where do you think all the deer urine you find on the shelves at your localsporting goods store comes from? It's all about the $$$$$$

Yeah, my brother in law raises deer. He has 10s of thousands invested. He is expecting to make some large $$. When there are high fence operations that will charge $10,000 for a 200" buck and there are shooters willing to pay to shoot a tame deer to hang on the wall, well, those pets have to come from somewhere!

$10,000? Try $25,000. There are people here in Texas who will pay $10,000 to kill a 150" buck with a rifle. If you have 200"+ deer, you're looking at atleast $25,000+ per. It's a very big market in Texas. I see probably fifty high fence ranches on the 6 hour drive from my house to my property.
