RE: Irrevocable Decision, The death of Jimmy Griffen video
Allot of you will disagree with me but Hunter Orange is a major cause of these shootings. These morons think if it doesn't glow like a pumpkin then its safe to shoot at.
And then we have the must kill bunch that feels that the day was wasted if they didn't rid the earth of something. Lighten up!!!!!!!! No one would want to live with this onhis conscience .Take your time ,Identify your target and if there is any doubt DON"T SHOOT! This is a sad sad story that should never have to be told. |

RE: Irrevocable Decision, The death of Jimmy Griffen video
Iwas thinking about something that the guy that did the shooting said. He said " When you hear a noise it's instinct to pull up your gun and aim."
WasI imagining that or did he actually say that? To me that's unimaginable to draw or aim without knowing the target. About 10 yrs ago archery hunting I was still hunting and rounded a pine tree and felt like something wasn't right and the hair on the back of my neck stood up.I looked up to my left into a tree and there's a guy there at full draw aiming in my direction. When I looked uphe was moving to his left to let down his draw. No one should ever aim or draw on a target unless they are 100% sure what it is. |
RE: Irrevocable Decision, The death of Jimmy Griffen video
Back in 2001, a classmate due to graduate HS in less than a month was shot in the head with a 30.06 while spring turkey hunting. My understanding was that there were 4 people 2 groups of 2. Both groups were calling to each other thinking that the other was a turkey. My classmate turned to tell his buddy that he thought there was a turkey, and when he turned back to look in that direction he was shot. He was in full camo with only his eyes showing. The shooter was a teenager hunting with an adult, don't know if anything happened to either of them.
Crap like this tics me off and is totally senseless. |

I agree with the light idea. I always have my head lamp on and I make sure and leave after dark from my stand. Surely, no one could say I was a deer with a freaking headlight beaming in their direction.

You can use a rifle in some states for turkey. Remington used to make a load that was a .22 cal with a plastic shell around it. not sure why people would do it but you can.

I have linked this to other sites I frequent as a reminder to all, regardless of weapon used, KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SHOOTING AT AND WHAT IS BEHIND.
The eeriest thing happened when I watched this video, When the shooter was telling of taking the shot, at that exact moment the power in my house went out for about 10 seconds. I still have goosebumps. |
