i abosulutly could kill over 25 a season there are s many where i hunt. my favorite section i saw like 17 or so deer in a few hours lol. i call the spot " the gauntlet" lol

I catch a lot of flack when I compare public land to private, about how hard the hunting is on public land verse private...How hard do you think it is hunting deer at your petting zoo???

In the great state of Maryland you can take unlimited does and up to 6 bucks if you apply for the extra stamp.

I personally have taken 22 does and 1 137 inch buck 3 seasons ago, that includes the 2 farms I do crop damage on and my private community hunts. All but 4 where taken with bow the rest where shotgun and muzzleloader. 95% of the meat was given to the church and the poor.

The biggest doe weighed 238 lbs dressed.
The smallest doe weighed 22lbs undressed.

I'll throw that same question out too you also

I checked out TN a few years back and even though they aren't really any farther south than we are here in SEMO, the deer I saw were small. Even the nicer bucks taken on the WMA we were looking to hunt ran a bit small. I'd say, fully admitting a limited experience, that a large buck there ould go 180-200 # live weight, which would put them about a 1/3 less once feild dressed. Someone had taken a nice 10 point, probably 135" or so buck that had a live weight of 179#. Most of the guys we talked with said that was a good buck.

The most I've taken in a season was 5. Only one was with a bow though.

GH
Notice I said mature bucks and does- If you kill any where from a 2.5 to 3.5 the will only go 130 to 150 pds that is not a mature deer. I killed the 10 I killed 3 years ago field dressed at 142pdsand was only 3.5 yrs old. The 9 point my father killed in 1987 field dressed at 178 pounds and was 4.5 yr old. My neighbor is a TWRA Wildlife Biologist and has the numbers for deer. They always check them on opening days and then do a check with slaughter house to keep up with the amount of mature and inmature deer weights and all the other biological stuff.

Jeff that is small potatoes! There is a club around here that hires out to subdivisions and municipalities, and golf coursesto take care of their deer problems. These guys set up right next the houses and bird feeders and flower gardens. Some of them have killed 60-70 deer in a season. NO JOKE, there was a write up about these guys in a local hunting mag.More as nuscense control than anything else. MO has a Hunters Feeding The Hungry program that they donate the meat to.

The most I personnaly have killed in one season was 8. A friend of mine has killed 10 a couple of times.

By the way doe tags are unlimited for most of the state with archery gear. $7.00 a piece for as many as you want to buy.

This is totally amazing kills. Where I hunt you can harvest 1 deer per year and thats a buck. The doe tags are on a lottery and the odds were 65% last year of drawing but that counts as your 1 deer for the season. You can party hunt and fill other peoples tags though. Shooting 10 + deer a year is darn near impossible up here. We just don't have anywhere near those populations. We do have moose and bear to round things out though. Nailed a bear last week that was getting too bold.

I have shot 3 in one weekend with the shotgun..all 3 were bucks though. Some guys in our party have killed 4 a couple years. I have never heard of anybody killing a number in the teens. We party hunt so we usually end up with 1 or 2 guys that shoot a couple deer.
