Default What is the best stand lock?

I just got done trimming up my stands and on one property had 2 stands stolen. What is the best type of lock to use?

What the hell is wrong with our fellow hunters? I absolutely cannot fathom how this can happen. [:@]

I haven't found a lock that stops them if they really want it.

In most Stores they have a steel cable with the plastic coating and a lock that seems to be a pretty tough system to cut through...or the same type in the Bike sections that have the steel cable and is probably a little cheaper?I put a heavy chain on my ladder stand and a stronger key lock on it,it can still be cut and stolen but the crooks are going to have to work for it! I was told to put your name and address and social security number on the frame of a stand so if it is stolen and recovered you can claim it,but then they (Thiefs) have your info in their possesion too!

well if they stole both of them they will steal again and probably bring bolt cutters with them, so i would invest in a climber man, losing stands will get cashy, but if you have to, get the fattest f'in chain you can find and fat f'in lock!

The most you can hope for is to slow them down enough to detur them, there is no such thing as making it theft proof, Ive seen trees cut down to get stands, it is VERY SAD that so called hunters will take from others without even thinking about it.

any ever think of e;ectricuting thier stand with a bunch of car batteries? when they go to climb op it and touch it they would get a sap that would cause a little pain.

Disclaimer: Do not do this if u are forgefull
Only attecpt on ladder type stands so they dont fall and kill themselves.
