RE: Guided hunts vs Private and Public land

Scott is definitely right when the pieces of private land are small.Vast public land can be excellent, you just have to go deep.

RE: Guided hunts vs Private and Public land

Is there an advantage, absolutely, but personally since I hunt both private and private with an outfitter, the advantage is no different than I have on my own land. I can put in the work here at home, game cams, work my feeder and licks, etc and can fairly well predict deer travel. The advantage I have when I head to KS with the outfitter is that he has done the same on his land there and I just get to enjoy his hard work. It's still fair chase and no guarantees, but if you put in your homework as does the outfitters, you always have an upper hand when your neighbor doesn't. Again, not to bring up the location debate, but certain areas hold more deer, I'm fortunate to have two locations with a great deer herd with mature bucks. I wouldn't change a thing.
