Baking soda?
 

Before I get to my stand I like to hose myself with scent killer but at 10 bucks a bottle it gets kind of expensive. I was thinking I could take a old bottle of scent killer and mix some baking soda and water together for a scent killer. Anyobdy done this or think it would be a good idea???

Ive never done it but it probly wouldnt hurt . I usually just hang my clothes outside for a few dayes before I hunt or get a bag and put your clothes andsome pine needles in it or ceader .

Here's what I use .............It works awesome and is cheap.Cheap. Cheap.!
Ingredients for Scent Killer:

16 oz. (2 cups) Peroxide (I use the brown Bottle Hydrogen Peroxide)

16 oz. (2 cups) Distilled Water

¼ cup baking soda

1 oz. On non-scented shampoo

(Or adjust amounts to whatever size you make accordingly)

Let sit for several days (1 gallon milk jug works good with lid loose)

I also make my own scent killer.ButI do not use the brown bottle stuff.I think it has too much smell.I use baquacil hydrogen peroxide.You can buy it at any pool store(it's in a blue bottle).The only thing is,it's 27%,so you have to dilute it down to 3%.Which means nine parts water to one part peroxide.I then use 1/2 cup baking soda,1.5 qts. of the diluted peroxide,2 qts. of distilled water(not tap water),and about an ounce of scent free laundry detergent.Try to put in a darker jug,and store in a cool dark place.Hope this helps.I know it saves me alot of money every year.

I wait until the end of the season and buy the bottles for only a $1 or two each. I use the baking soda along with the scent free soap (again bought at the end of the season for $1) to wash my clothes. I then place them in plastic totes with cedar chips between each layer of clothes. We have a lot of cedar tress here in Washington so it makes for a great cover scent.

I always throw my clothes in the dryer for five or ten minutes with an earthscent wafer before I go out. It's cheap and has always worked for me.

The only problem with this is if your wife uses dryer sheets. This will make the dryer and your clothes smell spring fresh. I always hang my clothes outside after I wash them. My wife doesn't use a dryer sheet (saw a video once where they made the clothes flammable) but I'm affaid of the smell left over from the washer machine. Not to mention she hates all of my scent material like the dirt spray. So putting them in the dryer with one of my dirt wafers would be a total NO..NO!!![:@][:@]
