Pin Picking
#1
I shot my bow a couple weeks ago for the third time this year but I was having trouble focusing on just one pin. I have a four pin toxonics site but I was considering switching to just a one pin sight. Does anyone have any input on this. I dont know if I would be screwing up by doing this or not.

i'd say you need to be shooting more if you're having that problem. i use a rangefinder to mark spots and usually have a good idea of the yardage a deer is at, so multiple pins takes the guess work out of things.

Its not that. I have a range finder but when I start looking at the multiple pins its hard for me to focus on them for some reason now. The pinsare set at 16, 20, 25, and 30 yards. I dunno it makes me nervous or something. Its wierd I guess I will just have to deal with it.

Why are your pins set so close in yardage? Maybe if you spread them out more, it would help. I have a five pins sight, and I just set one pin for every ten yards out to fifty. Even with that, my ten and twenty pin are really close.

Try using 20,30,& 40.Or, 25,35&45.Youcan usethe 25 yd pin and be good from 0-25 yds.
The biggest problem is you not practicing enough. Only 3 times this year?
If you practiced more you'd see that you can easily use a 20 yd pin to 25. A 35 yd pin from 25-40.

Davepjr71 trust me dude I have practiced more than 3 times in my life. Ive been bowhunting for about 8 years. I know that what you are saying is true but I set my sights differently than traditional to fit my bow and its capabilities. Thanks for the advice my problem however is like seeing double when I look at the pins I just cant focus on one.

I use only one adjustable pin and for me it's the only way to go. When hunting I lock it in on 25 yards andI can pretty much hold dead on from 0-35 yards.
