I shot my first actual rage 2 blade tonight. The only complaint I had was there was quite a bit of flight noise. I was also shooting my G5 strikers and there was no noise. They flew well and hit where I aimed, just don't know if I'm sold just yet. I also shoot a guardian at 70 lbs. I didn't have any issues with them not opening on the target entry.

My issues weren't that they didn't open. Mine opened out of the bow. That may be why you heard so much noise. Yours may have opened on the shot too. If you have a paper tuner around, shoot thru it and see what kind of tear you get. I did that and the blades were already deployed.

jm...to be honest I didn't get that the first read, and you may be right. I'll fire some up again tomorrow. I was a little disappointed to say the least at the noise. I'm not confident enough in them to take them in the field. I'm going to shoot a few more. Thanks.

Have any of you checked out piston points? Same concept of rear deployment but they look like a whole lot better of a design.

If yours open on the shot, a rubber band around the middle cured that for me. And now mine fly like darts and still open on impact. I am using them this season. Good luck.

I've shot them all last year and never had one come open. If your more comfortable with the rubberband on it, use it, but I don't think it's necessary

JM,

Their was a recall recently and it concerned the entry part of the blades that make them deploy.
Is it round off or pointed? If more rounded return them they stated.
I will see if I can find that recall.
