Do I have enough kinetic energy?
#1

I don't know, guys...
I went out to shoot a bit this afternoon and I nearly ruined a couple arrows. I think my YJ target is getting a bit worn.
Do you guys think I'll have enough kinetic energy this fall?

In any case, I'm digging my FMJs. I pulled both of those out of the shed after that picture and spun them just to make sure they were okay; no wobble.
I really need a new back stop.

Haha, nice. We havebeen using a big card board bale for a backstop. We went to a local Pamida, told them what we were using it for and they just gave one to us. The thing is big and heavy. If you keep it off the ground and wrap a cheap tarp around it, it will last for years. The thing is 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide, we've been using the same one for about 7 years now.

Love those FMJs. They penetrate like crazy. I have a new Glen Del buck and they are the only arrows that will bury to the flechings only being stoped by the piece of 3/4" plywodd backstop. My Maximas and A/C/Cs only bury a little over halfway.

i just tweaked my setup for the highest KE i can get out of it. shooting heavier arrows and at a decint speed. not sure what im pushin but on target puts me at roughly 260fps and almost 70lbs of KE. aloooooot higher than my 55lbs of KE i used to shoot.
funny....i could posted a very similar pic a couple days ago. sent it through my broadhead target(a 3 inch thick piece of hard foam...usually stops anything) and i have a pallet leaning against my haybale backstop...blew through the top board, and up passed the 125gr fieldtip into the brace board...that was amazing. i had to saw up alot of the pallet to get my arrow out!
surprised that didnt bend the FMJs...i was curious as to how tough they were...i figured a blow like that would bend the alumanum....if i didnt find my CX arrows id be shooting FMJs most likely
