LOL if I lived there by you, I'd come over with my .06 and take care of it for a case of beer.

You shoot deer that are not affecting you in anyway but you can't shoot a wild dog, now come on.

Wild dogs are more dangerous than bear or even wolves, especially if they are traveling in packs. They can do as much damage as any other large preditor with the addition of not being afraid of people, and that they will kill for fun(not just food). If it were me, especially if there are kids that might be in the area, I'ld feel it was my duty to shoot them. Just use a scope and check for collars first and make sure the farmer doesn't have any dogs that don't have collars.

Oh yeah, don't talk about it too much afterwords either.....

Take em out. When I was 13, I had a stray dog false charge me, snarl, show his teeth, and try to bite me while I was walking to me stand. He did this for about 1/2 mile, when I decided enough was enough. I dispatched the mutt and left him there. I felt terrible afterwards... but looking back on it, I believe it was necessary.

We had six wild dogs run up on us at deer camp a few yrs.ago. I was aways from a gun, so I had to jump up in the back of the truck, they were getting pretty nasty, My buddie pulled a John Wayne and put them all down, it's what needed to be done. I would do the same, you never know whats going to happen, let alone your trying to hunt!

Are you sure these are strays or wild dogs? Do they have collars? If all they do is chase a deer now and again, they may just be the neighbors dogs doing a little wondering. If I saw a collar, then I would only shoot one that came at me or did damage.
A wild dog, one that has been on its own for a while, will more than likely be pretty nasty. The longer they have been on their own the nastier they can get. So even as a dog lover, no collar, running deer, dead dog.

running deer now how long will it be until they start running cows or chicken or the kids? Just something to think about long term not just the present but what to avoid in the future.

If this dog has been ruining your hunt for awhile now, I believe it might be time to "put it down."

none of them have a collars, i have talked to the neighbors and they arnt their dogs, and i have only whitnessed them running deer a few times this past year. they are still there so i have a plan.....

1. take out the corn in my feeder
2. replace it with kibbles and bits
3. get out the AR-15
4. post up in the pasture with some red-neck friends
5. finish the job

sound good to you guys?
