Bow inside truck all day?

Who has left their bow inside their truck all day? What i am getting at how much damage do you think it would do to the bow to sit in the heat of a truck/car all day.

I got a really nice place to hunt by where I work and If I bring my bow to work with me I can leave work and go hunting. but I dont want the heat from sitting in my truck all day to damage anything.

What kind of temperatures are we talking? Is your workplace safe enough that you could cover your bow with a sheet or something and leave the windows cracked?

Well early season will be in Sept. so the temps outside will still be in the 90's and so in the truck are liable to go over 100. Yes I can cover it and leave the windows cracked, but will it still get to hot?

Definately would have some string damage if I left my bow in my truck all day this time of year.

Those temps are pretty high. I don't know for sure that it would damage anything, but I really wouldn't want to test it with my bow. You know what I mean? Can you take it in to work with you and put it somewhere inside? That is what I would try to do.

Back in the old days when the limbs were laminated wood and glass, leaving one in the car on a hot day was a death sentence for a Bow! Todays Bows Limbs are much more durablebut if I had to leave it in the car or truck all day, I would at least leave the windows cracked if that was my only opton to hunt!

This must be the topic of the week. This is the third response I have made on leaving bows in vehicles or storage units in the heat. Believe it or not, heat will contribute to string and cable stretch and it is very hard on you limbs. I take mine in the office when I have to and put it behind my office door.

whoops...I left my bow in my truck all day yesterday while at work with the temperature around 92. (shot after work with some guys) Nothing broke, but I am pretty sure I won't be doing it again after reading and thinking about it.

I included this on a related post as well. My work does now allow weapons of any sort inside. In fact they have big signs in the front windows of each entrance since conceal and carry was passed here. So I am force to leave mine in my car.

I will sometimes bring my bow to work to take it to the pro shop at lunch time and leave in a hard plastic case in my car trunk or back seat. If it's very warm out, I will put a towel over the case with several ice packs from the freezer spread out over it and then another towel. I have felt the bow after leaving all day and it is not warm at all so this method works. My wife thinks this is amusing, but it doesn't take much effort and it protects the bow.
