RE: Bad Genetics????
Here's a real life example.....Same deer.
![]() Think he's glad he waited and didn't "cull" this deer? |
RE: Bad Genetics????
Pretty crazy eh Jeff. Suprised you remembered that one. I wish I would have gotten a chance to stick him late season, before the neighbor shot him. Oh well, such is life.
On another note, because of the term "cull buck" people get QDM and TDM mixed up. |
RE: Bad Genetics????
Didn't remember that was associated with you, Dan....or I would have footnoted it.
It's a PERFECT example.;) |
RE: Bad Genetics????
Looks like a healthy deer to me.

RE: Bad Genetics????
You know what when I come to think about it you guys are right. Those were yearling deer last year and they had multiple points, That could be a great thing. I just let other people get in my head when they reacted to the pictures when I showed them. I guess I will wait another year or two and see what they bring!

HOORAH!!!!!!!!!!:) |
RE: Bad Genetics????
I would give him another year, its not like he running the herd and breeding all of your doe. see how he looks this year and then make the choice whether to keep him or not
|
RE: Bad Genetics????
Give him 2-3 more years and you may be surprised. Hemayturn out to be a non typ stud.

RE: Bad Genetics????
I have a similar buck roaming around were I hunt, big body deer that looked about 2 1/2 last year with 12" spikes. The nieghbor saw him this year and said he is a 6 point.

RE: Bad Genetics????
ORIGINAL: GMMAT I think its a big mistake to discuss culling any deer that are less than 3.5 years old. |
