Have you ever dry fired your bow?

RE: Have you ever dry fired your bow?
I never have. My daughter has a few times but thankfully she is only pulling 19 pounds so nothing happened. I was still ticked each time though. She hasn't done it in awhile though. Think it was from just being little and inexperienced.

Unfortuately, I know that sick feeling. I drew on a doe a couple years ago, and my arrow fell off of my string, due to a crimped serving caused by a metal knock, the slit second before I released. It cost me 250 dollars. Completely shattered my Muzzy fall away, bentthe lower cam on my bow, and ruined the cable and string.

I haven't with my bow, but here is a funny story:
Me and my brother were at Simmons Sporting Goods (A huge sporting goods store in NE Louisiana) and they were having some type of hunting demonstration/show. Anyways, there were people everywhere and they had some Mathews bows out on display. Well, my idiot brother picks one up and start looking at it and pulls it back and then his wife tapped him on the shoulder and he dried fired it in the middle of the entire crowd. Everybody just turned and stared at him. Even the guest speaker stopped talking for a second. Some guy that works in the store walks over and tells him that he just bought that bow. Somehow my brother talked/pleaded his way out of buying it. I don't know how he did it, but I thought the whole ordeal was hilarious.

I don't think anything can silence a crowd of hunters like the old dry fire in the pro-shop routine.[&:]
I actually get embarrassed myself for the poor saps.[X(]
