RE: Secret Attractants

I use nothing, I keep totally scent free as I can, I do not put anything down. I hunt the terrain(funnels and chokepoints). I seem to have deer around me all the time;)

I used "nothing" deer Attractant:D
I subscribe to this, too. I also don't vocalize (calls)much (less and less). My area.....I can get away with a little human scent (more than most, probably). I get in very early.......stay a little later......slip in....slip out.....and try to not ever let them know I was there by leaving a strange scent or making a strange sound.

It's worked, so far.

Last year, for the first time, i bought some of the el cheapo doe pee stuff at Wallyworld. I accidently left the bottle near the downed tree i was using as a blind. Came back 3 days later and a tree right next to where i left it was torn to shreds almost from ground to 6 feet high. no bark at all

I agree with this, but I do feel you can do things to swing the odds in your favor. By baiting, using calls, urine attraction, mineral blocks can keep deer in the area. However, it does no good to have any of these things if you are not in their territory, or your scent gives you away.

If you scout hard, stay scent free, use attractants, practice your shot and keep out of sight you have a great chance of taking a deer.

Haha heres one for you... I had a guy tell me to mix two bottles of vanilla flavoring and a big jar of peanut butter into a gallon jug of water and let me tell you the results were INCREDIBLY BAD!!!!!!!!!!! No tracks were even around this stuff!

I myself have great results from just plain old salt and sugar on stumps!
All my deer are running around with high blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes haha!

Just my opinion, and currently living in a state where it's legal on private land, but....baiting = cheating. But whatever a guys has to do, a guy has to do. I just personally wouldn't feel I was accomplishing much if my treestand was over a bucket of corn or a salt block.

I feeddeer corn in my back yard and currently have 9 different bucks coming in...two of which are definitely shooters. With all that said, if I could legally hunt the little strip of woods back there, would I? Ummmmmm......maybe. ;)
