RE: Your comfort range?

My sight may sport 5 pins but I certainly never plan on using them allwhile hunting. As a couple of the guys above have mentioned, it's all about gettin' close. I want my shots within 25 yards and the vast majority of them have always worked out that way. Under ideal conditions I would take a shot in the 40 yard range however.

I have pins out to 55 yds, but 95% of my setups don't allow for a shot over 25 yds, and typically I look for that 10-15 yd shot. However if the stars lined up, the galaxies were in harmony and I knew an exact range I may or may not shoot out to 30-35 yds.

40. I practice out to 90, just for kicks. That way the 40 doesn't seem so far. I prefer closer shots, but that's why I like bowhunting.

When I turkey hunt, I want him inside 25.

30-35 yards. The pin vibrates to much any way from the shot of adrineline :D[8D]to shoot any farther. :)

35 to 40 yards seems to be a common yardage to stop at. This is what I would say as-well. Although I have to admit I have taken a deer at 52 yards the last day of bow season three years ago. Although this is not a type shot I look for it was the onlytime in 21 years that I have shot at a deer over 50 yards. And I have only shot over 40 yrds a few times in those years. jAnd yes, I did make a good clean double lung shot and he went down with in 60 yards.

40 yards if everything is perfect. 30 if it is windy and what not.
