MK_M_GBL,

I honestly thought you would surpass that benchmark! I realize the folks on this forum probablydon't know you,but you've taken some outstanding bucks and you're a true top level whitetailer! I'm in the 890's myself and thenext buck Itake will put me above that mark.... or I'll keep waiting.
HA! I'm just lucky enough to live in a really good area, and as my wife would tell you, I spend a couple hundred hours in a tree every fall.

I'm about to the point that it will take something really big for me to drop the string. I said that last year though and ended up shooting a 3 1/2 year old 130" in January. I'm still kicking myself for that one.

I just love hunting and shooting whitetails. It's hard to let 3 - 4 year olds walk, but I guess that is what it takes to kill the true monsters.

I shot some little guys back when I was a kid. My 6 largest I suppose is about 625 approx. Just quickly adding up the numbers in my head.

I bet those little ones, ment just as much to ya at the time when you was young, as the bigger ones did later. I know mine did!

Just added mine up for the heck of it, 849. Now all I need to do is shoot a 200 inch deer and I should be good :D.

TreeJay and others,

CONGRATS to all of ya on some nice whitetails!!! Numbers certainly aren't everything butthey're fun to look back on once in awhile. As many have mentioned before, AGE is more of a determing factor of trophy status than score is, higher scoring animals only mean that genetics andnutrition are better for one area over another. Congrats again to all of you guys on some quality animals.

Although I agree with you....I think we're in the minority in this thinking. I've never killed a 1.5 yr old buck.....and I guess I never will. Still.....everything I shoot is judged on rack size.

"Higher scoring animals only mean that genetics and nutrition are better for one area over another."?? Makes too much sense.;)

Rough guessing....I'd like to be at 1000" by my 50th birthday......9 yrs in.....and hunting only NC.

Now I agree with you 100% Bryan, But I took one in Kansas in 94 that was aged at (best they could tell) 11 1/2! But my Wife and 2 Son's clame the Old Buck was Senile, and could no longer SEE, HEAR, or SMELL well anymore, and not eligible for Trophy status!
