Scott Little Goose. An excellent release.

RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
I use a Tru- Fire Hurricane release.
I have no complaints about this release. It's adjustable for length, adjustable for trigger pull, pivots out of the way, availablein either a buckle or velcro strap (I prefer buckle) and the jaws remain closed until the trigger is pulled, no re-setting. Very solid hunting release. |
RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
I was shooting a Carter Ember 1, but I just traded for a Carter Chcolate Addiction and think I'll be staying with it.

RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
Last time I used a release was 2 weeks ago. TP picked that time to sneak up on me again and it got me bad. It was so frustrating I'm certain it was the last time I'll EVER use a release. Fingers. I've always shot better and more in control with my fingers than release anyway.

RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
I shoot a Scott Wildcat for hunting, and a Carter Just Cuz + for 3d.

RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
I use a Carter Ember 1 about 99% of the time. However, if I get the slightest indication that I am getting punchy, I swith to a Carter 2.5 Solution (backtension w/safety) release. I can shoot the backtension release for a short time and all the punching goes away.

RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
i've got a little goose. i tried the wildcat thinking the nylon would allow me to tuck the release in my sleeve. my anchor felt a lot different without the rigid body that the little goose has so i went back.

RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
I went from a tru-ball tornado to a scott mongoose to a tru-ball Titan and am now looking to buy the new tru-fire Bulldog as Matt068 mentioned above.
I think the swing back lock (instead of trying to tuck into shirt sleeve) is going to besweet with this one.I like the fact that the the jawsslowly open when the trigger is pressed and spring closed when the trigger is let up (like a tru-ball) instead of snapping open, that along with the trigger forward design. yepI want one. |

RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
I've been looking at that Tru-Fire bulldog.
I have a 2.5 year old Tru-Fire Team-Realtree something or other, and I really like it. It reminds me of a nice crisp 3lb. rifle trigger. It takes some pressure, but you still don't know when it will go off. It very, very rarely has a misfire b/c it's not real touchy (I don't want a hair trigger for hunting). So far it has been a very consistent release, and I can't really blame any bad shots on the release. Anyway, I was looking at the Bulldog, b/c it is trigger forward and I can gain almost 1/2 inch on draw (Greg/MO talked about this in another thread about trigger forward designs), and I like the lock back design. I like to keep my release strapped on and still do other stuff without it getting in the way. If anybody has anything else to say about the bulldog would like to hear it, but I'll probably wait to buy this release for next season. No reason to change what's working. ;) |
RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
Cobra wrist strap
|
RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
T.R.U. Ball Short N' Sweet. I love it. It's a hook type and I love the simplicity of it. You don't need to snap it on your loop, just hook it on.
|
RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
Trufire 3D Hunter thumb release is what I'm using now, tried wrist styles and best one I found was the Trufire Judge. Either one of these two improved my accuracy over the other brands of hunting style releases I've tried, like Carter,Scott and Truball.

RE: What kind of release are you guys using.
tru-ball tornado (i think)...only one I ever owned.Something happenend and it broke once, after 3 yearssent it back the fixed it at no charge!!
