Well I am sure most can relate and it seems we dont talk much about the side of hunting that doesnt always work out like we want it too..
I was all pumped up yesterday to go out and film in one of my favorite past summer filmingareas. A low pressure system was moving in, bringing needed cool temps and rain in the AM. It was what seemed would be a perfect evening conditions for feeding. I showered, got dressed and hiked into a distant corner of an alfalfa field. The wind was great! I sat for 3hours in my observation standwith camera in hand...saw 4 deer, 2 does and two baby bucks right when I arrived, then nothing.....Then as primetime came, nothing showed, I mean nothing showed up...First time in 3 years using the same exact enterance and exit routes...Ihiked out in the dark a good 1/2 mile up over a mountain ...I'm still shaking my head this morning.. The wind was perfect etc.. just one of those nights I reckon..
If nothing else I got some good exercise in.. moved a scouting camera and the skeeters were not too bad..

I can relate to that , theres been many times when I ventured into the woods for some scouting and came back out disappointed.
But like you said it was good exercise and it's always nice to out in the woods wheather you see anything or not.

Same thing happened to me last night, i got in my stand and waited and waited and nothing, absolutely nothing came, not even a squrriel or a bird. So after 2 hours of that i decided the misquitoes weretoo bad and with the neighbor running an escavator200 yards away i dedided it wasnt worth it.

Unfortunatley in Central Pa where i live, thats a normal day, minus the seeing anything part, you gotta stay positive and hunt through it, when i killed my deer last year, i haddent seen anything in weeks. so i know how you are feeling.
