I made something similar to what Cougs has out of those flexible drain extenders. Get a couple of 4 foot sections of those and something that you can put on top as a recepticle (I use a 5 gallon bucket with an hole that meets the drain piece with a lid). Wire tie it all to a tree and you're done.

i use plain old salt blocks, they love to eat the dirt after it melts

I make my own.

1 part sodium bicarbonate
1 part dicalcium phosphate
2 parts trace mineral

Dig a hole, dump the stuff in, mix it up in the dirt. The "part" can be anything....I use a big coffee can.
